Interestingly this was where I had been thinking of for Friday lunch. We had been there earlier in the year and decided it was nice but so stuffy we would not go back until after the ban.

Last year I was in Aberdeen during the Jazz Festival but didn't eventually go to any evening events because they were all in smoky pubs. I'm now seriously considering arranging a work trip to Aberdeen to coincide with the festival next year so that I can go to some of the pubs. Clearly the ban will then have brought money to the city.
Hey - the Cellar Bar must be wonderful nowadays. :)
My thought exactly...
I wonder, though, how many of these places are so steeped in years of smoke that they are still really unpleasant anyway? I think I'm glad that California has had a ban for some years now. Everyone has had time to get used to it, and the ingrained old gunk has had ample time to fade away.
That was exactly what I thought. :o)
