Cars and Crashes

Ho hum, ggreig borrowed my car to drive to a dentist appointment in St Andrews. On the way back to Dundee a car crashed into the back another car that crashed into the back of him at the Forgan roundabout. He is fine and they are waiting for the police. Further updates to follow...

... why is life never simple.

Everything will be OK provided none of the drivers do a runner this time.

Andrew

Happy to report no-one did a runner, and no-one injured.

Not so happy to have broken my accident duck, and in someone else's car. Sorry Andrew!

Having talked to the insurance company it looks like the place to be in a shunt is at the front. They said it was normally one of the simplest kind of accident to get sorted. As soon as anyone in the chain of cars behind admits fault they can get my claim settled. The car at the front can claim against anyone behind. If I claim against someone in the middle there insurance in turn claims against the person behind them, and so on. If the person at the back admits fault, I claim against him directly.

All sorted. Insurance will contact JM Accident repair in Perth, they will arrange with me when the car to go in and replacement car with Enterprise. Talked to Western Saab and they suggested I ask the repairer to get the car given a Saab diagnostic check to see why it stalled. This means they will take it to the nearest Saab service center ( Western are 1.4 miles away) and connect it to the appropriate machine. Staling on an automatic tended to be the _insert_technical_name_I_did_not_catch_ box, if that is the case it should be covered by my warranty. Ho hum...

Very glad to hear you're in one piece. SAABs are good for that.
