I was lying in bed on Sunday morning listening to the news and they were talking about the Northern Ireland piece process, again. Then it came to me, I had got them at the last bomb damage sale I had been at in Bangor about 1990. This does explain the colour at least. I buy black one these days.
I kinda miss bomb damage sales. Belfast was better for them than Bangor. Generally the stuff in the shops was cheep and good as normally the only damage had been plaster dust and/or water damage. The blasts had a habit of triggering the sprinkler systems in the big department stores so stuff got damp before the valves got turned off.
