There was a factoid in Ripley's Believe It or Not! today that caught my attention.

A git of googeling later I find some back story.

Fun read... anyone have any old clocks or smoke alarms they do not need?

Very enterprising! Shall have to keep a close eye on Beth's interests as she gets older. I hope its only shoes, makeup and boys (or girls, mustn't make assumptions) :-)

Thank you - you prompted me to google for a poem my Dad often referred to on a similar subject:

This is the Tale of Frederick Wermyss
Whose Parents weren't on speaking terms.
So when Fred wrote to Santa Claus
It was in duplicate because
One went to Dad and one to Mum-
Both asked for some Plutonium.
See the result: Father and Mother-
Without Consulting one another-
Purchased two Lumps of Largish Size,
Intending them as a Surprise,
Which met in Fredericks's Stocking and
Laid level Ten square Miles of Land.
